About Last Night

Soto strikes as Nationals upset Dodgers
If you needed an unexpected result to catch your attention at the start of the MLB week, the 33-65 Nationals beating the 64-31 Dodgers 4-1 on the road should have done the trick. Juan Soto hit a 2-run triple in the 5th to help end the Dodgers’ 11-game winning run at home. The Red Sox won for the first time in 6 games, 3-1 against the Guardians, while the Tigers beat the Padres 12-4, the A’s upset the Astros 7-5 and the Diamondbacks shut out the Giants 7-0.

Best Bet of the Day

MLB: Under 7.5 runs in Atlanta Braves vs Philadelphia Phillies
7:05 pm ET

Tonight’s game between the Braves and Phillies could easily turn into a pitchers’ duel. Both pitchers have sub-1 WHIPs this month with Spencer Strider allowing 1 or no earned runs in 3 of this 4 starts. Aaron Nola is coming off an absolute gem of a start in which he allowed just 4 hits and no earned runs in 8.1 innings pitched. There is no confidence in the offenses of either team to produce runs against these pitchers. The Phillies rank 24th in runs scored in the last 15 days and have scored 3 or fewer runs in 10 of their last 13 games. As good as the Braves have been, they rank near average in runs scored in the last 15 days. Look for a lower-scoring game. Read our full Braves vs Phillies preview.
