The NBA weekend continues with a 7-game slate on Saturday. It’s not a huge one, but it should be a fun one. Among the teams in action are the Miami Heat, Golden State Warriors, Brooklyn Nets, Philadelphia 76ers, Milwaukee Bucks, Dallas Mavericks and Memphis Grizzlies. Stephen Curry returns home to Charlotte, while Milwaukee is facing the 4-1 Atlanta Hawks in a rematch of the 2020-21 Eastern Conference Finals.

Here is a look at today’s mega parlay.

Hornets ML (+385)

Hawks ML (+175)

Parlay odds: +1234

For this 2-team parlay we are going with a pair of underdogs on the money line. Let’s break down each of the plays.

Charlotte Hornets ML over Golden State Warriors (+385)

It has been a less than impressive start to the season by defending champion Golden State, which is 3-2 so far. That’s not too surprising, either, for an older roster battling a championship hangover. The Warriors are still waiting for Klay Thompson to get going. He is averaging only 12.6 points per game this season on sub-par efficiency both from the field and from 3.

Meanwhile, the Hornets rank 7th in points per game, relying mostly on outscoring teams to win games. That isn’t necessarily a bad idea when you are a big underdog as Charlotte is today. If the home team catches fire, it can win a shootout. In total the Hornets have 7 players averaging double-figures in points per game. It’s also worth noting that they actually boast a winning record against Golden State in the last 6 head-to-head encounters (4-2). The teams split the regular-season series last year, with Charlotte winning its home game by 4 points. This would be a big upset, but much stranger things happen during the regular season.

Hawks ML over Milwaukee Bucks (+175)

I am happy to roll with teams that can score in bunches. When those kinds of high-powered offenses get on a roll, you never know – especially in the regular season when teams are not especially interested in investing on the defensive end of the floor. Atlanta is one such offensive-minded club. It has been playing that kind of style throughout the Trae Young era and that certainly isn’t changing with Dejounte Murray now in the fold. The Hawks have won 4 of their first 5 games and are coming off a 136-point effort in Detroit on Friday.

Milwaukee beat Atlanta in the 2020-21 Eastern Conference Finals largely because of Khris Middleton, but Middleton is still out to begin this season. The Hawks are playing the second leg of a back-to-back situation, but so are the Bucks – who took care of New York on Friday. Giannis Antetokounmpo and company are undefeated, but without Middleton if Young gets hot the home team is not necessarily a lock to be able to keep up from an offensive standpoint. Nobody other than the Greek Freak is averaging more than 14.0 ppg so far.
