Both the White Sox and Astros are coming into this series having had off on Thursday, and both dominated in their previous series finales. Houston took down the Rangers in a 9-2 win to help them maintain their comfortable lead in the AL West. Meanwhile, Chicago smashed the Tigers 13-0 in a series in which they out-scored Detroit 27-6. After those performances, it’s time to find the value in this weekend’s series. Along with this same game parlay, be sure to check out our thoughts on the side and total for all of today’s games.

White Sox ML (+135)

Jose Abreu 2+ total bases (+155)

Let’s take a closer look at each leg of our same game parlay.

Chicago White Sox ML (+135) over Houston Astros

The Astros are the favorites in this matchup, and understandably so. They’re at home and have 39 wins on the season for a reason. They are also getting a lot of love due to Framber Valdez starting this game. While he has been solid, he is also what provides the value for the White Sox in this game. Chicago has had their struggles with injuries this season, but there is still something in which they are the best. The Sox absolutely smash left-handed pitching.

With a .837 OPS against such pitchers, they are comfortably ahead of the Braves just 1 spot behind them. Keep in mind that Atlanta is on a 14-game winning streak and have yet to lose in the month of June. The White Sox may not be at that point, but their recent series sweep was a complete decimation and has them maintaining relevance in the AL Central.

As for the Astros, they have cooled off recently. Their hot month of May catapulted them to their division lead, and the Angels’ 14-game losing streak certainly didn’t hurt. They’re now 5-5 in their last 10 games and lost back-to-back series against the Mariners and Marlins recently. One of those losses to Miami was a Valdez start. Now facing a team that loves hitting lefties, the Sox can pull off the road upset.

Jose Abreu 2+ total bases (+155)

With an entire lineup that enjoys facing lefties, it can almost be overwhelming to pinpoint a specific hitter. However, Abreu has been the team’s most consistent hitter through all of their injury concerns. It doesn’t take long to see that, as he leads Chicago with 102 total bases on the season. That’s no fluke either, as he also led the team with 272 total bases last season. Abreu has needed to step up with guys like Tim Anderson out of the lineup, and has done exactly that. He crushed this prop in 2 of the 3 games in their previous series with 9 and 6 total bases. Now facing the type of pitcher he prefers, expect Abreu to help Chicago as they try and pull off the upset.
