Joel Embiid looks to stay dominant as his Philadelphia 76ers host the Los Angeles Lakers in the first of the two NBA games on TNT tonight. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 pm ET and I’ve prepared a same-game parlay which you can find below. Fingers crossed we can add to our +1262 same-game parlay winner from Monday!

You can also read our predictions on the side and total for the Minnesota Timberwolves vs Golden State Warriors game, but for now let’s focus on the Lakers and Sixers.

Los Angeles Lakers 1-10 win margin (+200)

LeBron James to record 8+ assists (+172)

Russell Westbrook over 7.5 rebounds (-108)

Parlay odds: +1344

Los Angeles Lakers 1-10 win margin (+200)

Both teams are coming off wins and each of them has 3 wins in their last 5 games. Philadelphia’s schedule has been a bit easier, so their numbers look a bit inflated during that stretch. LeBron James and the Lakers just beat the Nets on the road, holding them to 96 points. Anthony Davis is back, although he had only 8 points in that win, he should be a big presence down low for them in this one. Joel Embiid has been playing extremely well for the 76ers lately, but he now has a defensive assignment that needs taking care of as well, which should cost him extra energy on both ends of the floor. AD has had some big games against the Sixers lately, scoring 30 or more in 2 of the last 3, and stopping both him and LeBron at the same time could be a problem for Philly in this one.

LeBron James to record 8+ assists (+172)

LeBron is on one of the best offensive stretches he has had in his career and him being 37 years old just makes it that even more impressive. He’s coming off back-to-back 33-point performances and over his last 10 games he is averaging 30.7 points. That’s all well and good, but if the Lakers want to beat Philadelphia he will have to get others involved. Turning to Davis on offense will be the key. That should stretch out the Philadelphia defense and make life hard for Embiid, who is likely to match up with him. LeBron has plenty of players to pass it to. Monk has been on a hot streak from three, there’s Westbrook and his unpredictability at the point-guard position and the occasional alley-oop to his big man Davis. The odds are pretty solid for this bet, especially since LeBron has notched 8 or more assists in 6 of his last 7 games against Philadelphia.

Russell Westbrook over 7.5 rebounds (-108)

Russ has had over 7.5 rebounds in 9 of his last 11 games against Philadelphia, and although those stats are a bit inflated from his time with the Wizards, he is still capable of getting to that number on any given night when he sets his mind to it. With Davis coming back, I think Russ will go back to his defensive assignments a bit more as there’s no longer any pressure on him to score. He’s had 9 and 11 rebounds in 2 of his last 3 games and he’s averaging 7.4 per game in January. The Sixers aren’t really elite when it comes to rebounding, they allow an average of 53.1 rebounds per game, which ranks them only 19th in the NBA. At home that number is even worse at 54.2 per game, so hopefully Russ is capable of taking advantage.
